Opiate Detox

If you are addicted to opiates, it is not recommended for you to just "stop" taking the drug on your own. Opiates are physically addictive and withdrawal from the drug should take place only in a medically based opiate detox center, like Stepping Stone Center for Recovery.

Opiate Withdrawal Management

At Stepping Stone, we have an onsite opiate detox center that is staffed by board-certified physicians who are specially trained in addiction medicine. They will monitor your health as your body adjusts to not having the drug in its system. Our team can dispense medications as needed to help alleviate opiate withdrawal symptoms such as:

  • Restlessness
  • Muscle and bone pain
  • Insomnia
  • Diarrhea
  • Vomiting
  • Sweats and cold flashes

Without a proper opiate detox program, the major withdrawal symptoms of opiate addiction, which peak between 48 and 72 hours after the last dose, can result in seizures or convulsions. Depending upon the severity of the addiction, a person can usually complete opiate detox in between five and seven days.

After detox, patients can immediately transition to Stepping Stone's drug rehabilitation program where they can continue addiction treatment. Remember – detox is just stabilization, rehab is where you will participate in numerous therapies geared towards long-term recovery and rebuilding your life physically, mentally and spiritually.

If you would like additional information about our opiate detox program or admission to Stepping Stone Center for Recovery, please call 1-800-237-3150. We are available 24/7, and all calls are confidential.

TESTIMONIALS

I know you will never believe it but it has been ten and a half months since I finished treatment and am still in recovery. I know you will say it may be more of a miracle that I finished rehab being that I was about as resistant a patient can be, but I am making it one day at a time. Special thanks to Robert.

This is to my therapist Bobby, who never gave up on me. I could never have made it through rehab without your patience. You taught me that I am worth it.

-- Bryan, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

My life was a shambles, my husband wanted a divorce and my children wouldn't speak with me. I felt hopeless until we all got together for family treatment. While we all have some hills to climb, my recovery is solid. Who would have thought, 476 days sober. Love to all.

-- Patti P, Atlanta, Georgia

You guys were right when you told me to get right into meetings. They have kept me clean and sober and I have made a lot of good friends. Thanks for bringing meetings into rehab.
