Family Addiction Treatment

The addiction treatment staff at Stepping Stone Center for Recovery concentrates on family addiction treatment. We believe that drug and alcohol addiction are diseases that over time become family illnesses. As such, all family members and significant others are directly affected by these illnesses. The behaviors and feelings associated with living with addiction often lead to dysfunction in the family system. Our addiction treatment programs for the family address this serious issue.

The Addiction Treatment Family Program

In a powerful four day addiction treatment experience, the development of the family system will be explored. The family therapist, a member of our drug rehab and alcohol rehab staff, will work with you in the following ways:

• Identify and address the feelings and issues associated with your relationships
• Challenge individual core beliefs that function as a basis for everyone's decisions and behaviors
• Identify the need for personal boundaries
• Encourage each family member to identify their role in the family system and how that role manifests itself in their relationships

All of the clinical services provided are located within Stepping Stone's addiction treatment facility.

Addiction Treatment and Relapse Prevention

The goal of the addiction treatment in our family recovery program is to assist each individual affected by the addictive behavior. The relapse prevention plan is designed to address a person's relapse triggers and how to effectively deal with them. Upon discharge from the addiction treatment program every person carries with them a copy of their relapse prevention plan. Relapse is always a possibility and treatment should be reinstated immediately. If an intervention is necessary we can help you locate trained individuals to assist in this process.
