Relapse Prevention Programs
Halfway House
In some cases of addiction recovery, the individual may not be quite ready to integrate back into society after undergoing rehabilitation treatment. They may be nervous about their ability to stay clean or be fearful that they will slip back into their old ways once back in their old environment. For these people, a halfway house offers the perfect solution.
What are Halfway Houses?
Halfway houses are living quarters designed around helping the recovering patient adjust to their way of life. The patient's reintegration into society is done on a much slower, more evenly paced level. All the while, the patient can continue their recovery process as most halfway houses employ staff members who can provide 24-hour monitoring and continual support.
What are the Benefits of a Sober Living Environment Like a Halfway House?
A halfway house can help recovering patients adapt to their new, sober way of life more thoroughly. This is accomplished because a stay at a halfway house allows for certain advantages, such as:
- The patient can build a support network
- It provides the patient with the opportunity to secure new employment
- It provides the patient with the time to secure a new living arrangement
- The patient can continue to receive supportive care throughout the day
- Individual and group therapy is continued in the sober living environment
How Long is a Stay at a Halfway House?
The length of stay is determined by each individual's unique treatment and recovery needs. Some people stay for one or two months, while others may stay for six.

TESTIMONIALS
I know you will never believe it but it has been ten and a half months since I finished treatment and am still in recovery. I know you will say it may be more of a miracle that I finished rehab being that I was about as resistant a patient can be, but I am making it one day at a time. Special thanks to Robert.
-- Terrance G, Morristown, New Jersey
This is to my therapist Bobby, who never gave up on me. I could never have made it through rehab without your patience. You taught me that I am worth it.
-- Bryan, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
My life was a shambles, my husband wanted a divorce and my children wouldn't speak with me. I felt hopeless until we all got together for family treatment. While we all have some hills to climb, my recovery is solid. Who would have thought, 476 days sober. Love to all.
-- Patti P, Atlanta, Georgia
You guys were right when you told me to get right into meetings. They have kept me clean and sober and I have made a lot of good friends. Thanks for bringing meetings into rehab.
-- Dean W, Dallas Texas
