Addiction Treatment Philosophy at Stepping Stone CenterWe believe in a personalized, multidisciplinary approach to the disease of addiction, with special emphasis placed on spiritual and medical treatment. Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Programs Specifically Designed for YouWhile we believe that addicts and alcoholics are more alike than different, we do not believe in a cookie-cutter approach to treatment. Everyone has their own story, including their own upbringing, their own life experiences, and their own history with drugs and alcohol. We have found the best way to care for an addiction is to uncover that story, looking for things like trauma, family problems, and consequences, and treating them accordingly. An Holistic Approach to Drug and Alcohol TreatmentWe also believe that addiction is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit, and that each piece requires equal treatment. Years of abuse can leave one feeling depressed or anxious, in poor physical health, and with a broken set of beliefs. We work to restore in each patient a clear, sound mind, a healthy body, and a belief that “a power greater than ourselves” can help overcome addiction. Medical Based Model for Addiction TreatmentBecause addiction is a disease, we treat it like any other disease, which includes offering the best medical care available. Medication, specifically, plays an important role in our treatment program. Withdrawal from drugs and alcohol can be uncomfortable and dangerous without detoxification medication. In addition, many patients have undiagnosed or untreated mental health issues that may be caused by drug and alcohol abuse, or may be a contributing cause of substance abuse. In either case, medication is needed. A Spiritual FoundationFinally, we promote using the 12-step programs of recovery because they work. Since 1935, hundreds of millions of people have recovered from alcoholism and drug addiction thorough AA and NA. The main goal of these groups is to help alcoholics and drug addicts find sobriety and develop a personal relationship with a higher power (however one chooses to define higher power), thus providing each patient with a spiritual foundation to deepen recovery. Addiction Treatment Programs That WorkThese philosophies guide everything we do at the Stepping Stone Center for Recovery. They have endured over the years because they help people recover their lives. TESTIMONIALS
I know you will never believe it but it has been ten and a half months since I finished treatment and am still in recovery. I know you will say it may be more of a miracle that I finished rehab being that I was about as resistant a patient can be, but I am making it one day at a time. Special thanks to Robert. -- Terrance G, Morristown, New Jersey My life was a shambles, my husband wanted a divorce and my children wouldn't speak with me. I felt hopeless until we all got together for family treatment. While we all have some hills to climb, my recovery is solid. Who would have thought, 476 days sober. Love to all. -- Patti P, Atlanta, Georgia You guys were right when you told me to get right into meetings. They have kept me clean and sober and I have made a lot of good friends. Thanks for bringing meetings into rehab. -- Dean W, Dallas Texas |
