Anxiety Disorder Treatment CenterAlthough everyone feels anxious or nervous sometimes, those with anxiety disorders have constant and abnormal fear or worry. There are various types of anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and separation anxiety (SepAD). In most cases, people suffering from anxiety disorders have symptoms that disrupt their daily lives. Signs of Anxiety Disorders
Anxiety Disorders Can be TreatedAt Stepping Stone Center for Recovery, treatment consists of psychological counseling, medical treatment, and drug and alcohol addiction treatment. A combination of therapies helps a patient live a life without anxiety. Specific details of treatment depend on the client’s particular disorder. That is why all our addiction programs are individualized treatment plans. Because clients with anxiety disorders are generally focused on specific fears, traditional “talk therapy” is not effective. Instead, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is recommended. As its name suggests, cognitive behavioral therapy has both a cognitive and a behavioral component. Patients learn that their fears are irrational or unrealistic and then they learn to adjust their reactions. In this way, they eventually become desensitized to things they once anguished over. Individuals suffering from a coexisting anxiety disorder while in our addiction treatment program will also be under the supervision of one of our medical professionals. If necessary, the medical professional will treat the anxiety disorder with medications, including antidepressants, anti-anxiety medicines, or beta blockers. Any medicines prescribed are designed to help regulate brain chemicals that govern mood or behavior, alleviating or even eliminating anxiety symptoms. Our addiction professionals know how to create a balanced combination of various treatment methods to provide a client with optimal care and a successful recovery. TESTIMONIALS
I know you will never believe it but it has been ten and a half months since I finished treatment and am still in recovery. I know you will say it may be more of a miracle that I finished rehab being that I was about as resistant a patient can be, but I am making it one day at a time. Special thanks to Robert. -- Terrance G, Morristown, New Jersey My life was a shambles, my husband wanted a divorce and my children wouldn't speak with me. I felt hopeless until we all got together for family treatment. While we all have some hills to climb, my recovery is solid. Who would have thought, 476 days sober. Love to all. -- Patti P, Atlanta, Georgia You guys were right when you told me to get right into meetings. They have kept me clean and sober and I have made a lot of good friends. Thanks for bringing meetings into rehab. -- Dean W, Dallas Texas |
